Only a small named selection of main roads is shown. Hydro areas smaller than 10,000 square metres omitted. Offshore sea extent is the source's FuzzyExtentWaterArea, not a surveyed boundary. No endorsement by NSW Spatial Services is implied. Informational context only, not for navigation. Projection: longitude/latitude mapped linearly into SVG viewBox 0 0 1000 620; north is up. Display is not a distance-preserving projection. sydney-map.svg: west151.145 south-33.925 east151.225 north-33.865 sydney-map-wide.svg: west150.62 south-34.13 east151.42 north-33.55 x=(longitude-west)/(east-west)*1000; y=(north-latitude)/(north-south)*620. These geographic data rights are separate from the site's code licence. Preserve attribution and this licence reference with redistributed maps; indicate further changes. No external map service is called at runtime. Site redesign adds original approximate locality-name labels (not venue coordinates) and adjusts line contrast. Labels are orientation aids, not navigation instructions. Compact map revision (25 October 2026): existing water/coast geometry and labels retained unchanged. City water geometry had previously been generalised at 0.65 SVG pixels; wide geometry at 2.5 pixels, omitting water rings below 20 square SVG pixels. Expanded light road layer (25 October 2026): selected main roads from the same NSW Transport Theme RoadSegment source are clipped to the existing map bounds, joined at coincident endpoints, simplified at 1.1 SVG pixels (city) or 2 pixels (wide), and rounded to whole SVG pixels. Very short segments omitted. No new data service or runtime dependency. City selected source road names: PARRAMATTA, KING, PRINCES, ENMORE, CITY, OXFORD, CLEVELAND, VICTORIA, SYDENHAM, UNWINS BRIDGE, ILLAWARRA, BOTANY, BOURKE, ABERCROMBIE, GEORGE, PITT, BROADWAY, WILLIAM, ELIZABETH, CRYSTAL, MARRICKVILLE, ADDISON, SALISBURY, RAMSAY, NEW CANTERBURY, LIVINGSTONE, STANMORE, JOHNSTON, BALMAIN, GLEBE POINT. Only source segments intersecting the map bounds appear. Wide selected source road names: PARRAMATTA, GREAT WESTERN, PACIFIC, PITTWATER, BARRENJOEY, PRINCES, WESTERN, VICTORIA, M2, WESTLINK M7, SOUTH WESTERN, HUME, WINDSOR, PENNANT HILLS, MONA VALE, WARRINGAH, MILITARY, SPIT, EPPING, RYDE, LANE COVE, JAMES RUSE, KING GEORGES, CANTERBURY, GENERAL HOLMES, SOUTHERN CROSS, EASTERN DISTRIBUTOR, ANZAC, NEW SOUTH HEAD, OLD SOUTH HEAD, FOREST, WAKEHURST, MULGOA, RICHMOND, CAMDEN VALLEY, THE NORTHERN ROAD, M12, BRADFIELD, CAHILL. Existing water geometry, labels, projection and map bounds remain unchanged. Road lines are orientation context only, incomplete and not for navigation. Thin muted lines render beneath locality labels. Combined SVG size approximately 32.9 KB (city 5.9 KB; wide 26.9 KB), with roughly 10.2 KB of road paths across the two maps. The larger source road dataset is not needed by the deployed page. All source CC BY 4.0 attribution and modification notices above apply to the road layer as well. This is NOT the separate LocalGovernmentArea layer or ABS statistical suburb approximations. https://www.data.nsw.gov.au/data/en/dataset/nsw-foundation-spatial-data-framework-administrative-boundaries-suburb Downloaded 25 October 2026. Forty-eight features intersecting longitude 151.145–151.225, latitude -33.925–-33.865. Source geometry generalised at 0.00004 degrees; projected into 1000 x 620 SVG, simplified at 1.2 SVG pixels, coordinates rounded to integer pixels and display clipped to map bounds. Thin muted strokes are an original presentation choice. No filling, invented borders or local-government boundaries added. Names remain in source data; the overlay adds no competing labels to the existing map labels. No endorsement is implied. Informational orientation only; generalised lines must not be used to establish legal boundaries or for navigation. Preserve this credit/licence and indicate further changes on redistribution. No runtime external requests.
